Use Ideas mode when you know which page to improve but not yet what to test. Variant studies the page and proposes up to five ideas, each with a hypothesis and a visual.

MarkerWhat it is
1Ideas mode. Up to five ideas for the current page.
2Visual. The idea drawn from a screenshot of the page.
3Pick an idea. Turns it into a variant.

Ask for ideas#

  1. Open the page Open the page you want to improve and the side panel.
  2. Switch to Ideas mode Describe what you are after, for example "Ideas to increase add-to-bag on this product page". You can select an area of the page to focus on.
  3. Review the ideas Each idea comes with a title, a hypothesis, what Variant observed, an inspiration and implementation instructions.
  4. Apply one The idea becomes a variant you refine like any other. In the web app, the idea is then marked Applied and links to the variant.

What an idea contains#

FieldMeaning
TitleThe change in a few words.
HypothesisWhy the change should improve the page.
Observation:What Variant noticed on the current page.
Inspiration:Where the idea comes from, with a link when there is a source.
Implementation instructionsThe change described precisely, ready to be built.
VisualAn image of the page with the change, so you can judge it before building it.

Every idea series is saved to the Ideas page of the web app, with the sources Variant consulted.

How ideas are produced#

  • Web searches. Claude may run up to five web searches per ideas request to find references. Search queries are sent to Anthropic.
  • Visuals. A screenshot of the selected area and a description of the change go to OpenAI, Henkan's provider for Ideas mode visuals. The image must be PNG, JPEG or WEBP, 8 MB at most.
